Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jason Spina is originally from New York. He attended Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. Georges University and went on to complete his internship followed by a residency at Oregon State University. Dr. Spina became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, and he spent the past few years working in Seattle, Washington before joining our team at VCA Valley Oak Veterinary Center. Dr. Spina enjoys the tangible nature of many surgical conditons, the challenges they bring and the reward of helping improve patient lives. Dr. Spinas special interests include, but are not limited to, developmental orthopedic conditions, sports medicine, arthroscopy and minimally invasive fracture management, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, oncologic surgery, spinal surgery, and lumbosacral disease. When not at work, Dr. Spina enjoys SCUBA, going to the park with his family, snowboarding, biking, and hiking.
