Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mark Wade grew up in Ohio with a love of animals, surrounded by dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, fish, tortoises, and the occasional rescued robin. By high school, he decided to set his sights on making veterinary medicine his career. He moved to Texas to work on both his undergraduate and doctorate work and obtained his DVM from Texas A&M in 1994. After graduating he moved to Massachusetts for a rotating small animal internship in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine at the MSPCA. In 1998 Dr. Wade decided to leave the long winters of New England behind and moved to California. After working primarily in emergency medicine for over a decade, he has spent the past decade in general practice. He recently moved from San Francisco to be closer to his other true love, the Sierras. When Dr. Wade isn?t working with animals, he?s likely working on a renovation project, canyoneering (yeah, it?s a real thing), backpacking, hiking, or biking.
