Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Berthiaume grew up in New Hampshire and always had a great interest in animals of all sorts including birds, insects, and reptiles. He attended Keene State College in New Hampshire where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude. While in college, Dr. Berthiaume worked as a park ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers and as a veterinary assistant at the Monadnock Region Humane Society. He attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Boston, Massachusettes, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Following graduation, Dr. Berthiaume took his first job in New Hampshire and spent a year taking care of a variety of animals including cats, dogs, horses, sheep, rabbits and even a bear cub! He and Dr. Marzke then moved to Tempe, Arizona where they have been practicing since 1997. Dr. Berthiaume is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AzVMA). In his free time, he enjoys hiking, gardening, refurbishing motorcycles. and spending time with his family.
