Veterinarian Overview
I am a true Midwesterner at heart and was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I received my B.S. degree in Animals Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Go Tigers! After graduation, my passion for animals led me to the St. Louis Zoo where I became a primate keeper, caring for monkeys, lemurs, and tamarins. While I have always had a love for animals, it was during this experience where I discovered my passion for medicine. I found the best of both worlds at the University of Missouri-College of Veterinary Medicine where I received my DVM degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After graduation I moved to Arizona and completed a rigorous 1 year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center in Mesa. After my internship I joined the staff at Goodyear Animal Hospital in 2010 where I developed special interests in preventative medicine, internal medicine, and emergency and critical care. In July 2015 I joined the staff to open Sarival Animal Hospital. My husband and I have a special place in our hearts for all smooshed face breeds and in turn share our household with three crazy Boston terriers, Teegan, Evie, and Georgia and a Pug named B.B. In addition to the four dogs, we have two handsome cats named Smokey Joseph and Merlin. In my time away from work, I can be found at the gym, reading, discovering the beauties of Arizona, and cheering on my St. Louis Cardinals and Blues as well as my Mizzou Tigers!!
