Veterinarian Overview
Chris Koester, D.V.M, was born and raised in Iowa, and attended veterinary school at Iowa State University. During vet school, his experiences led him to realize that emergency medicine and critical care was his calling, so he took his first job as a staff veterinarian at Forsyth Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Winston-Salem, NC. Although he enjoyed his 4 years there immensely, with a close family still in Iowa and young kids growing up in a hurry, he decided it was important to relocate closer to family. His family had often spent vacations in the Ozark region while he was growing up, and he always knew he'd return there to live one day. He accepted a position with AECNWA in January of 2006 and has been here ever since. His primary hobbies include mainly outdoor activities - running, hiking, boating, hunting and he is an especially avid fisherman. He's a huge fan of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the Denver Broncos and the Iowa Hawkeyes (despite actually being an ISU grad!). He has 2 children at home, who keep him busy with all manner of sports and activities, which he enjoys tremendously. He has an old dog, Rosey, and a very nice cat named Owen who are also both nice enough to share his home with him
