Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Konstantine Barsky grew up in New York City wanting to be a paleontologist. This interest, coupled with constant exposure to the medical field through his family, led him to veterinary school at Ross University where he graduated in 2008. Often considered a tough profession to enter and pursue, Kon finds veterinary medicine to be a natural choice for him since making his decision. While Dr. Barsky misses some things about his urban roots, he readily admits that he enjoys the mixed animal environment that a rural area like Ulster County and the Hudson Valley provides him. Dr. Barsky loves music, especially jazz, and is himself an accomplished bass player.Dr. Amy Enkler grew up in the Catskills and attended Marist College. She worked as an equine vet tech for 5 years prior to attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2012 with highest honors. She completed her clinical training at North Carolina State University and her internship at Flannery Animal Hospital, continuing as an associate until 2014 when she joined Hurley Veterinary Hospital. Her special interests include cardiology, ultrasonography, surgery and emergency medicine. She enjoys educating clients, getting to know them personally, and client satisfaction. Dr. Enkler she enjoys horseback riding, skiing, camping, and spending time with her family; husband Jim and two stepdaughters. They have a small farm and have horses, dogs and one cat. She is a member of AVMA, NYSVMS and Hudson Valley Veterinary Medical Society.
