Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Adela Rico is a home-grown gal, right here from Houston, TX. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Rico first dreamed of becoming a veterinarian in 5th grade, and has since dedicated her career to helping animals and their people! Dr. Rico started her career at a practice near the medical center, and worked there for 15 years. Then she relocated to Katy about 5 1/2 years ago. She also worked at area emergency clinics early in her career as well. She has been happily married (to Dr. Toby Shows!) for 12 1/2 years, with a beautiful daughter that is the light of her life. Her animals include 3 kitties, 1 dog, a green iguana, and a red-tailed boa. Outside of working at KBAC, she enjoys being outside camping or hiking, as well as curling up with a good book.
