Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Aaron K. Pate was born in Knoxville, TN and spent most of his early childhood on his families farm in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. There he spent most of his days rolling in the grass with the farm dogs, bottle feeding new born Angus calves and riding his pony. As a teenager his mother was remarried and they moved to Athens, Ga where he came to be a die hard Georgia Bulldawg!Dr. Pate received his undergraduate degree from Maryville College near his family farm in TN, where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Pate then went on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and spent his clinical year at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Teaching Hospital. He was then awarded an internship in Large Animal medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia.Dr. Pate met the love of his life during his clinical year at Tennessee. His wife Dr. Diana Pate went on to become a veterinary ophthalmologist and in 2012 Upstate Veterinary Specialist made her an offer to become their first veterinary ophthalmologist, which is how they came to be in Greenville. Dr. Pate and his wife moved to Greenville in September of 2012 and subsequently gave birth to their first child Jack Oliver Pate on November 19, 2012. The Pates have quickly grown to love the Greenville area and are proud to call the upstate their forever homeIn his spare time Dr. Pate enjoys fly fishing, camping, mountain biking, and most of all, spending time with his wife watching their son Jack grow and discover the world!
