Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Dennis Burkett, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a 1984 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained both MS (1980) and PhD (1986) degrees in Physiology and Biophysics from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and completed a residency in Internal Medicine (with a concentration in emergency and critical care medicine) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Dr. Burkett received professional certification as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in September 1993.In 2002, Dr. Burkett returned to academia and, in 2005, completed a residency in cardiology at both Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He received professional certification as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of cardiology in 2007.
