Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Porter is a native Midwesterner growing up in Wahoo, Nebraska. She earned her B.S. at Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2003 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2008. The following year she completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA Newark in Newark, Delaware. During her internship she found a special interest in emergency and critical care medicine. She practiced as an ER/CC veterinarian at a referral hospital in Chicago for two years before making the decision to move back to Nebraska. She has continued practicing ER/CC at the Animal Emergency Clinic for the last 5 years. Dr. Porter has resided on the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine board for the last 5 years, currently serving as the outgoing member at large.
