Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Linney grew up in western Pennsylvania and northern Indiana prior to attending Indiana University for his undergraduate studies and the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation Dr. Linney went into general practice in northern Indiana for three years. He went back for further training as a surgical intern at Sonora Veterinary Specialists in Arizona for one year, then as a surgical resident at Norwood Park Animal Hospital in Chicago for three years. Dr. Linney became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2012. In addition to his rigorous surgical internship and residency, Dr. Linney has received additional training in advanced neurologic surgery, advanced fracture repair, and advanced reconstructive techniques for oncologic surgery and trauma. He is trained to perform the TPLO procedure for cranial cruciate ligament rupture in dogs, along with fracture repair systems including bone plating, external skeletal fixation, interlocking nail systems, and locking plate systems. Dr. Linney has given lectures on surgery to colleagues in several states and has helped train over 20 interns, two of whom are now surgery residents themselves. He is published regarding surgical techniques for repair of patellar luxation in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Linney enjoys all aspects of orthopedic, neurologic, and soft-tissue surgery, with an emphasis on the emerging veterinary fields of sports medicine and rehabilitation.
