Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jim MacLean grew up in Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School and worked in local veterinary hospitals as an assistant (including here at PMC). He attended Old Dominion University and transferred to Virginia Tech as a Biology major. He graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech 1994. After graduation, he worked in a small animal hospital in Waldorf for 12 years, while commuting from Northern Virginia.He gave up battling the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, worked in Burke for 3 years and is back at The Pet Medical Center of Springfield. He has additional training in ultra sound and endoscopy and has special interest in internal medicine, cardiology and surgery. He graduated with a masters degree from Georgetown University in business management in the Spring of 2011. He lives locally with his wife, three young children, two tolerant cats and a black lab
