Veterinarian Overview

Dr James Sloat is one of the owners of Pet Vet Animal Hospitals. He was in the inaugural class of the Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1979. Dr. Jim relocated to Houston after a brief internship in Ohio, and has been a practicing veterinarian in Houston with Pet Vet his entire career. He and his partners developed the first multiple location practice group in Texas managing over 70 veterinary hospitals. Dr. Sloat currently practices at Pet Vet’s location in Southwest Houston. He is an avid outdoorsman hunting and fishing on the Texas gulf coast. Dr. Jim and his wife Bernadette are deeply committed to their church and have been blessed with three grandchildren who refer to them as Nona and Pop Pop.
