Veterinarian Overview
1978 graduate of Purdue University. He grew up with his 4 brothers and 5 sisters on a farm in Indiana where he developed a natural interest in animals. Dr. Sheets has been at ACGP since January 1999. He's practiced veterinary medicine in the Metroplex for 31 years. Prior to the purchase of Animal Clinic of Grand Prairie Dr. Sheets held the position of Hospital Director of a 15 Veterinarian, 45 lay personnel in a mixed general and specialty practice. Here he was involved with developing the first 24 hour-full service pet hospital in the state of Texas. Dr. Sheets changed pace in 1999 when Dr. Bob Wilson retired from the practice here at Animal Clinic of Grand Prairie after 40 plus years. His special interests are general and orthopedic surgery and cosmetic surgery. He and his wife of 30 years, Kevyn Joe, have 3 children, Parker, Tanner and MaryAlice. He stays involved youth sports and having served as a Director for Irving Boys Baseball Association for 10 years and is a past board President of the Association. He is currently serving on the City of Grand Prairie's Animal Advisory Board. He has served as the on call veterinarian for Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey traveling circus. He has 1 dog named Oreo, an australian shephard mix that he rescued and she recently had anterior cruciate knee surgery repair. His other dog is named Scout, a maltese/poodle mix that was released to the clinic at the age of 6 weeks.
