Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Wayne Hershberger grew up on a beef and swine farm in Iowa. He did undergraduate work at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He received the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State in 1976. He came to Tyrone to join the practice of Drs. Babe and Ramsay, also in 1976.Dr. Hershberger's practice philosophy has been "to go the extra mile" and treat clients and their animals as he would like to be treated. This is still the philosophy of Town and Country Animal Hospital. We know we aren't perfect, but we aim for excellence.Dr. Hershberger resides near Warriors Mark with his wife and best friend, Elaine. They have three grown, married children, Ryan, Cara, and Kevin, and two special grandkids, Erin and Bethany. They also had a family cat named Spot for many years, but are now "empty nesters". Dr. Hershberger now claims his clients' pets as "his".Dr. Hershberger's main joy is spending time with his family. He also enjoys almost any sport, and has been involved with stock car racing at local dirt tracks for several years.
