I moved to this area 9 years and was told about Alburtis Animal Hospital and I have been very pleased with the quality of service they provide. The owner Dr Smith is very present treats my pets like his own and the Vet Tech does as well. This is very important to me . Dr Smith also always gives me his utmost attention while in the room with me and any of my Pets. All my questions always answered as well. The front desk staff are always pleasant and knowledgeable when Meds are concerned as are The Vet Techs and again I stress this communication is very important to me. . The only issue I have with AAH is they are not available on weekends. Unfortunately this Vet has decided he needs to spend time with his family due to the fact he’s open 3 nights a week til 8 and one til 6, Fridays they close at 5. So that’s the only issue I have but I also Respect his choice to be with his family on the Weekends. I highly recommend “ Alburtis Animal Hospital “

I have been a cheerleader for this hospital for the last ten years however it’s come to an abrupt stop. The change came when bringing in my youngest dog: my one year old that they treated for a month on and off. They were more concerned about gi symptoms then she went back into season 2 11/2 months after her last season. Took two ultrasounds with their awful ultrasound equipment that missed pyo twice in this pup. Dr Smith sent me off on a Monday evening with probiotics and concerns of my girls gi issues more than anything else after the second ultrasound. His exact words “this isn’t pyo because the uterus and horns aren’t both filled with fluid and it may resolve we get her gi issues get under control. However get in with a repro specialist when you can to ensure everything is okay since you want to breed her. Within 48 hours and many phone call I found a repro specialist an hour away that wanted to see her ASAP. First look at their ultrasound proved to be pyo she pointed everything out to me. Due to the misdiagnosis for the last month we agreed that the odds were not in our favor to try medication for her and she would have a tough road ahead of her if she did make it and go through breeding. This is a pup that comes from a long line of strong breeding dogs and was bought to be bred with all the rights and health checks. The negligence by the hospital, fight to get records sent over to the repro specialist and lack of compassion after her surgery from this office is beyond words. Two months after her pyo surgery she is still recovering and can have up to another month ahead of her. I am grateful to the vets that saved her but disappointed by this hospital and how different the outcome could have been if I would have listened to them and not trusted my gut.
