Veterinarian Overview
Even though she traveled all over the country as a junior tennis player, Dr. Susan Costas firm roots in Las Vegas, where she was born and raised, could not be challenged. She attended Valley High School (as a varsity tennis player!), before accepting a full-ride scholarship to University of Utah for tennis. While at Utah, she was invited to the NCAA tournament in doubles, and she received her BS in Civil Engineering although that career would be short-lived! I worked in the engineering field for a while, says the proud AVMA member. But then I started volunteering at a vet clinic in Santa Fe, NM, and everything changed. She headed to UNLV to meet her prerequisites for vet school before heading to Veterinary School at Colorado State University from 1997-2001. I graduated in 2001 and have been practicing ever since, she says. I now have 3 dogs, Mack, Goldie and Smokey plus a tarantula. I cant imagine my life without veterinary medicine. I love working with people to help their four-legged children.
