Veterinarian Overview
A primary care practitioner at Westfield Veterinary Group since 2005, Dr. Shawn Day has always had a passion for caring for animals and grew up knowing he wanted to be a veterinarian. One of his favorite aspects of practice is the opportunity it gives him to positively affect the lives of the pets and families who visit the hospital each day. Dr. Day grew up in New Jersey and attended the University of New Hampshire, where he received his bachelors degree in pre-veterinary medicine. He completed his veterinary education at the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Fond of all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Days professional interests are primarily in the fields of internal medicine, dermatology, and soft-tissue surgery. Dr. Day and his husband, Phil Zipkin-Day, share their home with their three kids, two dogs and two cats. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, photography, hiking, tennis, travel, theater, and playing the piano.
