Veterinarian Overview
When Westfield veterinarian, Dr. Loomis, received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, he was also the recipient of the World Animal Care Foundation Award recognition that is bestowed upon the student who best promotes the importance of the human/animal bond. He also studied animal science at the University of Georgia (from which he graduated with honors). It is this kind of compassion for animals that drives Dr. Loomis every day. Today, Dr. Loomis has a special interest in surgery and the treatment of exotic pets, and is a member of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Loomis is married with two children and has an English bulldog named Munchkin. He is a member of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce and is on the South Plainfield, NJ, Board of Health. Dr. Loomis purchased Westfield Animal Hospital in 2012, along with Dr. Scott Linick.
