Veterinarian Overview
Growing up in Lima, Peru, Dr. Amato always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian because of the special bond she had with animals. Dr, Amato moved to the US when she was 21 years old. She received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University and worked as a veterinary technician at the Bound Brook Veterinary Clinic. She left New Jersey to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian and continued her education at Colorado State University-College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2013. Following graduation she returned to New Jersey and worked in general practice as well as emergency medicine for several years before rejoining the Bound Brook Veterinary Clinic. Although she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, emergency medicine and dentistry are among her special interests. Dr. Amato and her two daughters share their home with two dogs, Blue and V, and two cats, Buju and Fenriz. In her spare time, Dr. Amato enjoys traveling with her family, scuba diving and rollerblading.
