Veterinarian Overview
Nina decided at age 12 that she would be a veterinarian; she had always been ''animal-crazy,'' according to her family, and she had an interest in health care she learned from her mother, a nursing educator. After graduating from Penn State, she attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, attaining her VMD degree in 1987. After a year in northern New Jersey, she joined Greenfields Veterinary Associates, where she became a partner in 1999. Nina became involved in greyhound rescue in 1992; over the next several years, she spayed/neutered and cleaned teeth for hundreds of greyhounds on their way to new homes. In 1994, she was finally able to get her own greyhound, a wonderful dog named Zoe. She has also been involved in Italian greyhound rescue (this toy breed has become popular in pet stores, which means puppy mills); all of her I Gs are rescue dogs. She recently rediscovered horseback riding and enjoys training with her horse.
