Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Burchill graduated in 1994 with his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Iowa State University. He practiced in a mixed animal practice for 19 years and was part owner for 16 years.His professional interest for the past years has been referral surgery. Especially taking on procedures that are complicated involving any skeletal structure of the dog or cat. He completed his TPLO certification by Slocum Animal Foundation, Inc. in September 2008 and has done numerous surgeries annually since. He has also completed continuing education on minimally invasive joint surgery and arthroscopy which supports his interest in orthopedics. Dr. Burchill also owns his own traveling surgical service, Burchill Surgical.Dr. Burchill has been recognized nationally for work on "Corky the Cat" a rescue from Cats Cradle in Fargo, ND. Networks across the United States and around the world reported on the young cat. After performing surgery for a joint deformity "Corky" was eventually able to move about normally.Another main interest for Dr. Burchill is ultrasound. In the fall of 2010 , he completed courses in cardiac and advanced abdominal ultrasound at the Academy of Veterinary Imaging.Dr. Dan lives in Kindred with his family and they have 2 dogs, "Finnegan" a miniature Goldendoodle and "Stryker" a German shorthaired pointer.
