Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Don Palermo joined Bienville Animal medical Center after 17 years of successful practice in Laurel. A native of Vicksburg, Dr. Palermo is a proud veteran who served three years in the U.S. Army as a medic, with 17 months actively served in Vietnam. He attended Mississippi State University for undergraduate studies, and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Auburn University in 1977.Dr. Palermo has a special interest in wildlife rehabilitation and exotic animal practice, and received numerous awards over the years for his care and treatment of wildlife. He also enjoys avian medicine and exotic petsDr. Palermo is a member of the AVMA, MVMA and AAHA. Dr. Palermo and his wife, Ann, have three children: Mary Lisa, Dee and Joey. He and his family enjoy outdoor recreation and water sports. Dr. Palermo considers fishing, scuba diving and reading as his favorite recreational diversions.He plays an important part in enhancing the superior veterinary care our clients have grown to expect here at Bienville Animal Medical Center.
