Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mayer is a New Orleans native who received his B.A. in biology from the University of New Orleans in 1978 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from LSU in 1983. While he takes special interest in general surgery, orthopedics and laser oncology surgery, he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. Dr. Mayer is a member of the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Along with his wife Lisa and five daughters (Rachael, Caroline, Megan, Kristin and Simone) Dr. MayerÂ’s household includes an assortment of birds, fish, turtles, cats and dogs. His daughter, Megan, will soon join the practice and he looks forward to sharing a profession they both love. He enjoys sports activities with his children and has a passion for "anything outdoors
