Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Metzger is a 1980 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was raised in the Boston Massachusetts area and went to Iowa State University for his undergraduate education. After graduation he moved to Indianapolis and accepted a position at Shadeland Animal Hospital where he worked until 1993. Dr. Metzger moved Geist Station Animal Hospital with its' purchase in 1993. Dr. Metzger is a member of numerous veterinary professional organizations and civic organizations in his local community. He has served a past president of the Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and was a member of the Indianapolis Animal Control Board.He enjoys hiking and camping in the U.S. National Parks and photography. Many pictures of trips to the national parks are displayed in the hospital. His hobbies are model railroading and gardening. Dr. Metzger and his wife have two grown children, neither of which is a veterinarian
