Veterinarian Overview
Dr. John R. Scamahorn has been a practicing veterinarian in Greencastle since his graduation from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is active in community and professional organizations. His professional memberships include the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. The Indiana Veterinary Medical Association recognized Dr. Scamahorn as the Veterinarian of the Year in 1994. In 2001, the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine granted Dr. Scamahorn the Distinguished Alumnus Award. Dr. Scamahorn served as District VI Executive Board Director of the American Veterinary Medical Association from 2005 to 2011. He is currently a member of the AVMA's Council on Education. The COE accredits veterinary medical educational programs.
