Misdiagnosed my cat and put her through unnecessary procedures while she had stage 4 cancer that he seen prior to a teeth cleaning. Staff is awful and needs to be replaced. Filed a state complaint and he no longer works for Northwest Animal Hospital in Des Plaines Illinoid. Also, have an open case with their malpractice insurance carrier Zurich.
Dr Schaele which also works at Northwest Animal Hospital on my last visit 8/2016 and followups through October 2016 My oldest cat was misdiagnosed with only needing a teeth cleaning but ended up having mouth cancer which if Dr Schelen acted on when He seen my cat could've been still with us. She suffered greatly and we were treated awful. Also, were charged for dental x-rays $150 and they can't even take any which is fraud. When complained after going to an ER Vet and found out she had cancer after an x-Ray we were devastated. We lost over two months time of waiting and treatment trusting DR. Called Northwest and Dr Schelen and wanted our money back. The owner of facility just sent a claim over to his medical malpractice insurance. Since then still waiting to see if they settle. Please do not take your pets there and always double check your veterinarian, bills and if you feel something is wrong get a second opinion. Fight for your pet for the law only considers them property.
