Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gargamelli is a 2004 graduate of Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine, and has a Bachelor of Science degree, with distinction, from Purdue University. While at Purdue, Dr. Gargamelli received multiple scholastic awards and inclusion in the Veterinary Scholar Program facilitating direct admittance into veterinary school on completion of an undergraduate degree. He has been at the Animal Emergency Hospital of Central CT for more than seven years. Dr. Gargamelli lives in Durham with his wife, two beautiful daughters, three dogs, two cats, two rabbits, two guinea pigs, and a turtle.Dr. Gargamelli is the Immediate Past-President of the Connecticut VMA and serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Foundation. In addition to AVMA and CT VMA membership, he maintains membership in Gamma Sigma Delta, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Hartford County VMA. Dr. Gargamelli has an interest in veterinary disaster preparedness and response and worked in Haiti providing emergency and disaster veterinary medicine services following the 2010 earthquake. He has been honored to be chosen for the inaugural class of the AVMA Future Leaders Program. When not practicing veterinary medicine or volunteering his time for organized veterinary medicine, Dr. Gargamelli enjoys taking an active role in his children's lives.
