Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sheila Tucker decided when she was very little that she was going to be a veterinarian. She was always surrounded by animals in her Enfield, CT home. Dr. Tucker worked at veterinary hospitals all through high school and college, with one summer spent on a dairy farm helping to milk and care for 80 cows. She earned her undergraduate degree from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. She also holds a Masters degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut. Today she has a special professional interest in surgery and internal medicine and continues her education through membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Tucker shares her home with four cats, Lionel, Lucy, Harry and Alaska (Al for short), as well as a Great Pyrenees named Belle and a Lab/Great Dane mix named Ruger. Outside of work she's an avid baker, gardener, reader and a fan of cross-stitching and crochet.
