Veterinarian Overview
Though born in New York, Dr. Eric Linnetz primarily grew up in Bristol and Burlington, where his parents still live, and graduated from Lewis Mills High School in 1990. He attended Cornell for both undergraduate and veterinary school and attained his veterinary degree in 1997. After an internship and four years in private practice in the greater Boston area, he completed a three year residency at the University of Illinois, enabling him to achieve board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine as a specialist in small animal internal medicine. In 2007, Dr. Linnetz bought Chippens Hill from his father and hospital founder, Dr. Lawrence Linnetz. That same year, he founded Western Connecticut Veterinary Specialty Services, a mobile veterinary ultrasound practice, to further utilize his internal medicine specialty. In order to better balance the demands of family, his mobile ultrasound business, and ownership of Chippens Hill, Dr. Linnetz passed the baton of veterinary leadership to long-time associate, Dr. Emily Elliot, in 2013. He has a wife, Doria, and two boys, Cameron and Elliot. In his free time, he enjoys family hikes with their dog Dexter, skiing, summer trips to Maine, and cooking (especially smoking and grilling). With a little more free time, he hopes to resume playing soccer and to finally learn to play the guitar.
