Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Grain grew up in the peanut farming country of southeastern Virginia. He graduated with a B.S. degree in biology from Hampton University in his home state. In 1977, he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University. He was awarded the Upjohn award and the American Animal Hospital Association award as the outstanding graduate in small animal medicine and surgery. He served an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of the University California-Davis from 1977 to 1978. Dr. Grain has been serving his patients and clients at this location since 1979. For 30 years, Dr. Grain maintained the high standards to be certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in the specialty of canine and feline practice.
