Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Deborah Johnson has been practicing at Palisades Veterinary Hospital since 2004. She joined the practice after two years working as an associate veterinarian in Glendale, Ariz. Born in Germany, Dr. Johnson settled in Arizona in 1978. She attended the University of Arizona where she received a B.S. in Animal Science. From there, she traveled to Colorado, receiving her DVM in 2002 from Colorado State University. Dr. Johnsons interest in veterinary medicine grew out of a desire to improve lives. Her aim is to make animals lives as healthy and happy as possible and, in so doing, boost the quality of life for the people who care so much about them. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include ultrasound, chemotherapy and surgery. A member of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AzVMA), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society, Dr. Johnson stays active in her profession so she can continue to bring the very best care to her patients. In her time off, Dr. Johnson enjoys wakeboarding on Lake Pleasant. She also likes to travel and is an avid SCUBA diver, achieving Dive Master certification in 2010. Dr. Johnson and her husband, Bob, share their home with two dogs a ridge-less Rhodeisan Ridgeback (Zoe) a funny Labrador mix (Stout) and a new addition a Catahoula mix (Roxx). They also have one long-haired cat and an extensive saltwater aquarium that often makes Dr. Johnson want to go diving.
