Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Guevara-Nieveen stepped into the field of veterinary medicine at the age of 16 when she underwent a medical externship program in veterinary medicine in high school. She went on to graduate from the University of Miami with a bachelors in Biology and a minor in mathematics. While at UM, she helped start the first pre-vet society alongside other students. While here, she was also part of the Alpha Epsilon Delta (Honors Medical Society) and the Marine Mammal Stranding Team. She later went on to pursue her degree in veterinary medicine at University of Florida and proudly graduated as a veterinarian in 2008. Since her graduation, Dr. Guevara has had experience with general practice, emergency and specialty hospitals, and corporate settings. She enjoys all aspects of medicine with a predilection for endocrinology, soft tissue surgery, and client education. Her family consists of a wonderful husband, a curious and sweet 4-year old daughter, a brand new baby girl, and an ever-supportive mother. She recently had her 16 year-old Labrador Natasha cross the rainbow bridge.
