Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Larry Wood and his staff are animal lovers, and they seem to collect the ones who need them the most.Originally from Indiana, Dr. Wood moved with his family to Texas in 1960. He received his bachelor degree and doctor of veterinary medicine degree (DVM) from Texas A&M University where he graduated in 1967.Joining the Army after graduation, Dr. Wood served in the Scout Dog program in Fort Benning, Georgia, from 1967 to 1969. He was awarded two Army Commendations as well as a Distinguished Service Medal for his contributions during the Vietnam War.Dr. Wood opened his clinic at 410 & Harry Wurzbach in 1976, and has been called, a country vet in the middle of the city ever since. He enjoys riding cutting horses and he collects western antiques
especially old spurs.
