Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Buck recieved her B.S. in 1982 and her DVM in 1987 from Texas A&M University. She spent four years in mixed animal practice in central Texas and three years in emergency medicine in Texas and Oklahoma. She settled down into a small animal practice in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for eleven years. Wanting to try something different, she found a position with Banfield, The Pet Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. Banfield transferred her to their central office in Oregon to work in the education department coaching and teaching veterinarians. Because of her experience in emergency medicine, she was asked to return to practicing medicine and helm two of the new urgent care hospitals owned by Banfield. To move closer to family and practice in a critical care setting, she chose to travel back to Texas and work in a large critical care/emergency hospital in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. She began working at the Animal Emergency room in 2010. Her husband David and she have four children; Jennifer, Arthur, Lilly, and Mick and a budgie named Blizzard. She just recently lost her elder Labrador retrievers and German Shepherd. Her interests include emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, cytology, and ultrasonography. She tries to find time to read, bicycle, hike, listen to music, write, and practice yoga. She volunteers with the Veterinary Information Network as a VIN Rep for the Emergency Medicine Folder.
