Dr. Ali hails from Trinidad and Tobago where she knew wanted to be a doctor for animals before she knew the meaning of the word veterinarian. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 at the University of the West Indies. After practicing in Trinidad for a little more than a year, she then spent a year at the University of Florida before beginning to practice in the United States in 2005. She worked at an Atlanta area veterinary emergency clinic before moving to Houston in 2007. Dr. Ali loves that is such an easy city to travel from and also to find great food. Her partners in these travel and food adventures are her husband and toddler son. Dr. Ali's primary interests in veterinary medicine include small animal internal medicine and soft tissue surgery with the goal of providing a good quality of life for patients. She also has an interest in treating small exotic pets, especially small mammals.
