Anna Osofsky is a 1999 graduate of the University of California, Davis (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a 1 year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Louisiana State University followed by a 3 year residency in Companion Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine, again at UCD. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) and is certified in avian practice. She has been a member of the CWPH team since 2006. Dr. Osofsky enjoys caring for all types of companion pets, especially dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, and, of course, birds. Her special interests include companion animal wellness, rabbit and rodent dental disease and all aspects of avian medicine. Her pet family includes two 20+ year old cockatoos and a Golden Retriever. Dr. Osofsky has published numerous journal articles on exotic pets including birds, rodents, rabbits and reptiles. She is active with the Association of Avian Veterinarians, having served as an editor for the conference proceedings and on the research committee. She is also a past Vice Chair for the credentials committee of the ABVP. Dr. Osofsky currently works with local rescue groups such as Wings of Love Bird Haven, Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue, and North Texas Rabbit Rescue. She has spoken locally for these groups as well as Tree Top Bird Store and Kookaburra Bird Shop.
