Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Chetney grew up in Minetto, a small town in upstate New York, and graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse. After earning his DVM degree from Kansas State, he completed a rotating small animal surgery and medicine internship at BluePearl Michigan Veterinary Specialists, followed by a medical oncology internship at University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He worked for a year practicing emergency veterinary medicine at RIVER in Chattanooga, and then returned to University of Tennessee to complete a residency in radiation oncology. Dr. Chetney is a radiation oncologist with a special interest in minimizing radiation side effects to normal tissues and healing the skin. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and kayaking, as well as spending time with his cat Theo and Border Collie, Logan.
