Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Scott L. Owens earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 after completing a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in 2002. After graduation he spent a year in a mixed animal practice before working for a year as an emergency clinician at Circle City Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital.In 2008, Dr. Owens returned to Purdue University to pursue an internship and residency program with combined Masters degree in small animal internal medicine, which was completed in 2012. His topic of research for his residency was canine protein losing enteropathy.Dr. Owens has clinical interest in all aspects of internal medicine, with special interests including gastroenterology, endocrinology, and immune-mediated diseases. He is trained and skilled in procedures including gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, tracheobronchoscopy and abdominal ultrasonography.Having graduated from Zionsville Community High School, Dr. Owens is pleased to be returning home to Indianapolis to practice internal medicine. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife Eron and their son Hayden, as well as playing golf, tennis, and showing horses.
