Dr. Kate Fitzwater graduated from Purdue University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences in 2002. Kate finished a small animal medicine and surgical internship at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC in 2007 and then finished a small animal surgical residency combined Masters degree at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH in 2010. Her Masters thesis was Computed tomography optimization of canine long bone models. Kate sat for and passed the American College of Veterinary Surgery board examination in February 2011. Her surgical interests include orthopedic, oncologic, cardiothoracic, head/neck and neurologic surgery. She and her husband, Luke, enjoy snow skiing, traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
