Dr. Marianne Lesh grew up in the country near Deer Creek, Indiana. She has an inborn love of nature, and spent much of her childhood outdoors with her dogs and cats. She has always loved animals, but didnt discover her passion to work as a veterinarian until later in life.Dr. Lesh attended Purdue University and graduated in 1994 with a B.A. in psychology and fine arts. Living in Lafayette and Chicago, Dr. Lesh explored different occupations, including teaching and social work, and then just enjoyed living in the city. After volunteering in a veterinary hospital in Chicago, Dr. Lesh knew she had found her purpose.In 2002, she returned to Purdue, and received her DVM degree in 2006. After graduation, she enjoyed working at a 24-hour veterinary hospital, which provided a strong foundation in critical care and emergency, as well as general practice. Her special interests include feline practice, dermatology, oncology, soft tissue surgery, and critical care.While in veterinary school, Dr. Lesh met her husband, Bryan Read, and they were married in 2007. Bryan is a software developer, and enjoys woodworking and home-brewing in his spare time. Dr. Lesh spends her summers tending to her perennial gardens, and taking her boys swimming and hiking with Bryan. The boys are Finley, a goofy Golden Retriever, and Grady, a very athletic Irish Setter. She also adores her three cats Kato, Oliver, and Manny. Manny is hairless Sphynx, who is the king of the household! In the winter, Dr. Lesh enjoys sewing, and making cat clothes to keep Manny warm.Dr. Lesh enjoys hearing stories about her patients and their unique quirks and talents. She believes every patient and client is different, and her mission is to teach and inform clients, listen attentively to their concerns and priorities, and support clients in making the best decisions for themselves and their pets.
