VCA Ark Animal Hospital in Chicago and Dr. Cieply mishandled my Lab Max while performing diagnostic x-rays back in December and left him unable to hold his hind end up for months. After numerous emails and submitting all of his medical records, I was once again offered a refund for that visit in the amount of $475.00 The clinic even failed to follow standard protocol as far as consent for sedation and no one has been held accountable for what happened to Max that day. We had a seven year relationship with the clinic and no one cares about what happened to Max and since my dog can not tell me what happened, I am left to assume that he was stretched and manipulated during these radiographs or dropped back there. Max was also misdiagnosed by Dr. Cieply who stated that Max had either a partial or complete tear and would require surgery and that the pain he was experiencing was due to that injury, yet when he was seen by the rehab team and his surgeon, they agreed that Max did not require surgery. Either way, the way we have been treated is beyond reprehensible and apparently VCA and Mars Corporation believes that their vet clinics, staff and vets don't have to be held accountable for injuries that were sustained while under their care. I have documented everything and I will proceed accordingly since apparently, the people who work for VCA Hospitals, including Ashley Townes who was assigned to this, think that we are irrelevant and insignificant.
