Dr. Maria Vianna is a board-certified Specialist in Surgery (Diplomate, ACVS), and has over 10 years of experience in specialty practice settings. After her clinical training at North Carolina State University, she was awarded an Internship position at the University of Tennessee. She then completed a Residency in Veterinary Surgery, followed by staff surgeon positions in Florida and New York before starting VSH. Dr. Vianna has published original research in veterinary orthopedics (Development of a crimp-clamp method for extracapsular cruciate repair) and soft tissue surgery at the University of North Carolina and the University of Tennessee. She has lectured on many topics of surgery, and written several chapters for veterinary text books. Dr. Vianna is an expert in orthopedics and specialized soft tissue and oncologic surgery.
