Dr. Lauren Matzuka has been practicing at Studio City Animal Hospital since 2008. This small town midwesterner completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Beloit College in Wisconsin. Enticed by the warm weather and progressive new veterinary school she moved to Los Angeles. Dr. Matzuka received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2007 as part of the charter class. She was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society. After graduation, she furthered her training and completed a one-year small animal internship in internal medicine, surgery, and critical care at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) in Ventura. Dr. Matzuka enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is particularly fond of internal and emergency medicine, as well as abdominal ultrasonography. She is delighted to see your dog, cat, or even your smaller furry critters such as hamsters, ferrets, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. When she is not taking care of your loved ones, you may find her catching up on movies, going out to eat, salsa dancing, or running. She has completed over 8 marathons, including the Boston marathon 3 years in a row. The three loves of her life are her two cats, Jade and Cici, and her husband Byron.
