Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Karen Benevento de Souza graduated from Universidade Paulista Veterinarian School in her hometown of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2003. Dr. de Souza trained in various specialties including dermatology, cardiology, critical care and ultrasound. In addition, she completed a postgraduate program in anesthesiology and surgery at the University of Santo Amaro. Dr. de Souza has a special interest in pain management, soft tissue surgery as well as eyelid surgery. In 2013, Dr. de Souza relocated to California, and, after obtaining her national and state licenses, she started to work as a relief veterinarian at Marin Humane. Besides helping stray animals, Dr. de Souza?s passion is working as a general practitioner. ?I enjoy bonding with my clients and learning about my patients varied personalities. In my career, I view my patients as complete individuals. My goal is to provide you and your beloved pet personalized care. In addition I value client communication and feedback. I appreciate being part of the VCA Animal Wellness Center team and helping to provide outstanding care and compassion to you and your companion here in the heart of Marin. Dr. de Souza enjoys the beautiful scenery and trails of Marin County where she lives with her husband, son and a rescued cat.
