Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Val Shearer is originally from Tucson, Arizona. She grew up in Arizona and attended the University of Arizona for her veterinary school prerequisites and also enjoyed working as a veterinary technician through undergraduate school. She attended UC Davis for veterinary school and upon finishing went back to Arizona for her small animal internship at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson. After her internship she moved up to Seattle with her husband and worked as an emergency veterinarian for a year and then a general practitioner for two years. She and her husband moved to the Bay Area in November of 2015 and are now enjoying the California sun and happy to be part of the Los Gatos Dog and Cat Hospital family. They had a new addition to the family in July 2015, a baby boy named Dean.Val (1) Dr. Val enjoys spending time with her family: her husband Sean, baby Dean and her two dogs, Diego and Fiona, and two cats, Moose and Madison. She also enjoys traveling, culinary adventures, hiking and camping and donating time and medical help to animal rescue organizations.
