Dr. McElveen's earned a BS in Biology from Armstrong State College in 1969. He finished a MS in Physiology and a DVM from the University of Georgia in 1976. Early in his career, he developed an interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery. He is the co-founder of FirstPAWS, a pet ministry program of First Presbyterian Church."Doc" has a big heart for puppies, kittens, babies, and anything that can be planted in the dirt. He is currently enrolled in the Master Gardner program at Clemson University. He loves his wife, his three grown children, their spouses, "The Grizzlies" (his camping buddies), one hound dog named Woody and three felines! Pleasantburg Veterinary Clinic, Inc. has been home to him since 1981.
