Veterinarian Overview
I was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma, and knew right away what I wanted to be when I grew up. When I was little, my mother decided that she wanted to go to college to become a veterinarian
and so did I! I took every opportunity to learn as much as I could. While my mother attended Oklahoma State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine, I tagged along, where they let me milk cows, fetch hay, and watch as they treated patients. The local mixed animal vet that she worked for on Saturdays also was kind enough to let me help out.My family moved to Northern Virginia when I was fifteen, and I started working as an assistant right away. I worked full time as a technician in an emergency small animal clinic while attending college at George Mason University with a major in biology. When I was ready to apply to veterinary school, there was no question where I wanted to go
Oklahoma State University! So I moved back home to Pawnee.
