December 2023 Update to my April 2023 review: Subsequent to the official complaint filed against Matthew Felrice, the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners recently completed their investigation and took disciplinary action against his license. The report can easily be found online by searching his name and MDA Vet Board, then a clickable link to “view disciplinary actions” becomes accessible. I am grateful to have achieved some measure of justice for our beloved Archie and to know he did not die in vain. A few weeks after I was refunded by Bennett Creek Animal Hospital, Matthew Felrice made it clear in an email to me that he still would not check a patient’s surgical incision prior to discharge because “that is the job of the techs”. It is disturbing how Felrice takes no accountability and chooses to flaunt his lack of remorse to a client who is grieving the avoidable tragic demise of a family pet. His behavior is cruel and outrageous. Sloppiness, laziness, apathy, and harassment have no place in veterinary medicine. I stood up to this menacing bully and now he has the public permanent black eye he so deserves. I hope and pray my efforts spare other helpless animals and their unsuspecting owners. May sweet Archie rest in eternal peace. His life mattered and he deserved much better care, professionalism, and compassion from Matthew Felrice. Basic decency is foreign to this individual. Please keep your pets away from him and avoid anyone or any practice that endorses and enables such a disgrace to veterinary medicine. This review is for Matthew Felrice, not QOVH where Pet Medicus shows him as working. Dr. Felrice performed a scheduled cystotomy on our beloved pet, Archie. The surgery was performed at Bennett Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Felrice discharged Archie hours later in critical condition with organs coming from his abdominal incision. I rushed Archie right back into the hospital and could feel more organs coming out in the palm of my hand. After Archie died, Dr. Felrice’s avoidant and apathetic behavior was outrageous. Everything from Archie’s botched surgery to Dr. Felrice’s post death response and refusal to offer a sincere apology and take any accountability was absolutely unacceptable - not the norm in veterinary medicine. There are more detailed reviews and photos on Google, Yelp, and Bennett Creek Animal Hospital’s Facebook page regarding this true horror story. I was refunded by the practice owner and there is currently an official investigation underway by the MDA Vet Board regarding Archie’s tragic demise. It is refreshing to know we have professionals working to protect the integrity of veterinary medicine in our state. If anyone would like more information, you may contact me via the Instagram pet account that I made for my students. @marylandguineapigs

We have a bearded dragon. Dr. Felrice is very patient with our little guy. He returns calls promptly and is knowledgeable. Dr. Felrice removed a tumor from our beardie, which hasn't recurred as well as treating other issues.
