Veterinarian Overview

Dr. Fleming received his BS degree in Dairy Science from Clemson University in l973, his Master's degree in Endocrinology/Biochemistry from the University of Florida in l977, and his DVM from the University of Florida in l981. After graduation Dr. Fleming served as a base veterinarian for the USAF at K.I. Sawyer AFB in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where he learned to love snow and cold weather. In l984 Dr. Fleming joined general practice in Palos Heights, Illinois. In l989 he started his own practice and is assisted by his college sweetheart, the former Ms. Connie Kress of Hickory Hills. Dr. Fleming is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Cancer Society, the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association and the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management (IAVPM). Dr. Fleming is assisted in the practice by techs Liz, Tracy, Ashley, Michelle, Cindy and Alesha. Up front you will be greeted by Paula, Cathy, or Katie. In October 2011, Dr. Lauren Ranta Tassone joined our practice. Dr. Tassone completed her undergraduate studies and veterinary medical school at the University of Illinois. She is enjoying her career as a vet because she truly cares about people and helping their sick pets. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, listening to music and reading. She and her husband Erik have two dogs, two cats and two box turtles, their own small zoo! In September 2012, Dr. Andrea Stauffenberg joined us. Andrea graduated from Iowa State in 2008. She says she loves veterinary medicine because she gets to interact with so many people of a daily basis and, at the core, gets to help all of their four-legged and furry friends. Her free time is usually spent with her husband, Brian, and sons Noah and Graham. They enjoy being outdoors and active and especially enjoy bike riding. They have a kitty, Peanut, and Choo-choo the Beta fish. Early in February of 2016 we will be fortunate to have Dr. Frank Norton join our practice. Dr. Norton is a Board-Certified Internist with a speciality in Small Animal Internal Medicine. This will be a real pleasure for me since over the past 30 years when I had a difficult internal medicine case I either called the Veterinary College at Purdue for assistance or Dr. Norton here in Chicago. His presence will afford a special learning opportunity for all of the doctors in our practice.
